Digital attention deficit disorder!!
Listening away to Dave Warlicks latest podcast “Connect Learning.” His guest on his show was discussing the idea of students finding information that is relevant for their learning…. Oh how true it is that we seem to have a problem with students finding worthwhile information in research. I have a recording of a lesson I did not so long ago, trying to help my students come up with useful ways to find worthwhile digital information. During the lesson I got the students to come up with their own criteria and then order them, creating a checklist.
I am going to put it all together as my next podcast very soon so you can have a listen. What I found most interesting is that many of the students knew what aspects they needed to consider when deciding what was good information, they just have trouble applying these skills. Hopefully this check list will help them in their next research assignments. This is why I find this term of DADD an interesting idea…..
