A case for 1 to 1

I am trying to generation some information to help me build a case for 1 to 1 learning in a high school digital media class. The options are going for an entire lab of gear or minimising the lab gear to allow for all students to have their own laptops (probably Macbook Pros). Thoughts and links to research would be much appreciated… As I gather more I will post a page (perhaps a wiki) to list all the research that I have collated (with the help of everyone else of course).

Thanking you in advance….

  1. Brett, you could listen to my students (who are in a 1:1 PC program) talk about it in their own words:

On a side note, my school got rid of all computer labs about 5 years ago. We have a 1:1 program in grades 8-12 and use laptops on carts in grades k-7.

Computer labs are over. We do retain one specialized space called the digital media lab with some high end Mac desktops for video editing and desktop publications.
