ITSC – That’s a wrap…

Just waiting to head home after a wonderful week at ITSC’07…. We had an amazing time learning, networking and just a little bit of socialising I have added our final video production that we did on the theme of what happens when….. Our group had no idea what to do so we did a video about the fact we had no idea. This is a very rough product but was a tonne of fun – oh and I learnt something too!!! Our presenters were two former students of Marco Torres’…. They were both great facilitators and did an amazing job!! (Well done girls!!!)

We finished this morning with a great presentation from Mike Anderson who is a principal in New Zealand. He was an enthusiastic and engaging presenter passionate about education and what we can do to transform the system into something that provides for teachers and students in a meaningful and effective manner. I guess what hit home for me was the fact that we sit around talking about what should happen but many of us are not doing it. Mike’s school seems to be doing some interesting work – but as he pointed out it is important to work out where each teacher is and encourage them to continue developing effective ICT strategies. I have taken a recording of his presentation and will be asking him for permission to post it as a podcast in the coming weeks….

All in all a great week with plenty to think about in the coming months….
