Hi Brett, this is indeed a fabulous initiative, and I’m really pleased to be involved with Westley on this since 2007, first as a Partner School in the CEO, which continues in Skoolaborate with Dean Groom and Parramatta Marist High School, and in 2008, with myself and St Joesph’s College at Hunters Hill. We’re having a total ball exploring the learning opportunities of this environment – and are also doing so ‘in world’ on the adult grid of Second Life on the island of Jokaydia. You should drop by some time and have a chat with me and my colleagues :-)

Brett – great video and concept! However, I see many administrators (as well as community members) here in the heart of USA questioning the relevance and significance of “virtual worlds.” The way the virtual world was developed is the educational process as well, eh? The other aspect to consider is how, as many educators (including myself) as technological “immigrants” can approach virtual worlds to make them relevant to classroom experiences. But, I would guess, that WE don’t have to – transferring the learning experience into the hands of the students and the teacher becomes (and models) life-long learning is the flip side. Where do you envision virtual world’s primary focus being in schools? Is it possible to be adapted on all levels (grade levels and cross-curriculums)? If so, what would need to happen to allow the “roll out” at the teacher level?
